This morning we headed off to see the Wizard. Yes we walked down the Yellow Brick Road today! Todays travelers were Aunt Janice, Aunt Julie, Mommy, Gracie and Maggie. We met up with Carrie and Anthony in the fog atop Beech Mountain! Our day began very cold and in the fog. We even had a bit of drama as folks were mad about the way the buses and haywagons were taking people up. I even experienced my own drama. I moved my truck from the top of the hill down to next to the line. The 12 year olds who tried to stop me will probably never jump out in front of anyone else. Ok, the story goes, It was FREEZING!! So we saw a vacant spot next to the lines of people. I climbed back up the hill (as I had forgotten the camera and made the first trip up) to move my car. The kid told me I could only go to the right, I told her I was going to move to another spot and I was going left. There was NO ONE coming in. It wasn't as if I was driving against heavy traffic. Anyway, I think the roar of my truck scared her out of my way and she stepped aside. Then 2 teens jumped up and ran into my path as if I were trying to break some great law. I politely rolled the window down and asked them to move. They said, "Lady you can't go this way." I said, "Watch me. Now move, my kids are freezing." The end...I got to the spot. Julie, Janice, Grace and Maggie stayed in the car while Carrie, Anthony and I stood in line. We saw Dorothy, Toto (which is Maggie's FAVORITE character), the Lion, Tinman, Scarecrow, Glenda, The Flying Monkeys, The Wicked Witch.
