Questions, Thoughts and Crazy Questions from K students

• How can a child scream for a solid hour? And not our girls...my students. I've never had a child cry and scream. I've thought about crying for my Mommy too....


• How can a child come to school after being in this world for 4 or 5 years and not know colors or how to use crayons? However they can tell me all about some Zelda and Mario game.


• It's hot....LIKE MISERABLE at our playtime. One day while playing a little boy comes over and says, "I'm hot. Can I take my shirt off?" While biting my cheeks so I wouldn't laugh in his face, I replied "We're going inside in 5 minutes, why don't you just sit under the shelter." That was a new one.


• I have 2 kids....I know that sometimes it is just easier to do things for them, but with that said I do make my girls be a little independent. They have jobs like putting their plates in the sink or clothes in the hamper. I'm pretty sure I have never walked EGB to her classroom, took her coat off of her(WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU MAKE A KID WEAR A COAT TO SCHOOL RIGHT NOW????), opened her cubby rearranged her belongings, hung up her backpack and then sat down beside of her to straigten her hair, belt or shoestrings. Even when she was next door I didn't take her to class EVERY DAY!!!!!
